While we have plenty of gray skies continuing this week, rain breaks out for our Thursday morning. Before we get there, the overcast conditions stay locked in around the area. Overnight, skies will stay mostly cloudy but dry. Despite winds out of the north our temperatures are likely going to stay mild for this time of the year. Low temperatures will be in the low to mid 40s to start Thursday.. For perspective, the average morning low is 30°.
Another area of low pressure is poised to move into the Ohio Valley and bring us rounds of rain for Thursday. Widespread showers will move in by the late morning hours of Thursday and showers will be around for the rest of the afternoon and evening. When you really break it down, it’s most of our daylight hours with steady, light rainfall. Temperatures will be in the low 50s. Showers are possible as early as 7 a.m., but the better chances will roll in after 9 a.m.
Showers will break up Thursday night into Friday morning. But additional spotty showers may re-develop Friday afternoon as low pressure slides through the Ohio Valley. Then, temperatures cool for the weekend as highs slip back to normal into the mid to upper 40s.
