PANHANDLE, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – Local school districts are announcing delays for Wednesday ahead of expected severe weather.
The statement read in part:
“Bus routes will begin 2 hours later than usual, and employees will report to work 2 hours later than their usual start time. VPK will run until 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday instead of the usual 11:00 a.m. dismissal. All other classes will dismiss at the normal time.”
“All schools will open three hours later and all buses will run three hours later than usual. For example, a school with a normal start time of 7:30 a.m. will now start at 10:30 a.m. A bus stop that is usually at 6 a.m. will be at 9 a.m. Dismissal times will remain the same and our principals will work with any students who may need weather-related excused absences.”
“All schools are impacted because of our tiered bus system. Since the first round of buses will be one hour late to the early start schools, that means that bus transportation to the second and third tier schools will be an hour late as well.”
We will continue to update you with any other school district delays or closures.
